Alastair Malcolm, President & CEO, is a general manager with over 30 years international experience in product development and business operations in the life science and semiconductor industries. Alastair graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Following his role as VP of Global Operations in Motorola's semiconductor business, he assumed the position of VP of Motorola's Life Science Operations which created the CodeLink family of biochips. Prior to founding Applied Microarrays, Alastair was VP of Molecular Diagnostics Operations at GE Healthcare.

Tamma Kaysser-Kranich, VP of Technology & Scientific Applications, has 10 years of experience in the microarray field, with an emphasis on management in product development, application development, and project management. Tamma graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry from University of California, Davis, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Following a post-doctoral fellowship at the Jackson Laboratory, researching in the field of mouse models for human disease, she was recruited to the bioarray systems group within Motorola. Tamma has been in product development and project management in the CodeLink biochip business since the original platform development, with experience and expertise in gene expression, genotyping, micro RNA, CGH, and protein arrays.

Brian Knipmeyer, VP of Systems Engineering, Graduated with honors with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Bioengineering from Arizona State University. Brian began working in the Motorola Physical Science Research Labs during the final semester of his graduate studies, providing automation solutions for the testing of microfluidic devices. Upon graduation he began working full-time with the CodeLink team on the development of the first-generation Biojet microarray dispenser. In his 8 years with the CodeLink/AMI team Brian has been instrumental to the continuous improvement of our microarrays manufacturing processes, software, and hardware.

Tom Wetteroth, VP of Array Operations, has over 24 years in engineering production and development management. Tom graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla. Following a sales position with Babcock & Wilcox, he assumed various roles within Motorola labs and the research groups within the semiconductor sector. Tom has been in engineering management in the Codelink biochip business throughout the migrations from Motorola, to Amersham Biosciences, to GE Healthcare, and now with Applied Microarrays. Tom has Six Sigma green belt certifications from both Motorola and GE.

Stacey Stewart, VP of Commercial Operations, has over 8 years of sales and sales management experience in the molecular biology field, primarily with Promega Corporation. As a Field Applications Specialist for Promega and, later, as a Senior Field Applications Specialist, Stacey actively converted a negative-growth territory into one of the top performing territories in North America. Following her promotion to Promega's Western Regional Sales Manager, Stacey hired, trained and managed a highly-successful team of 9 Field Applications Specialists covering the Western U.S. and Canada. Stacey's team achieved their sales goals both years under her management. Stacey graduated with a B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine.
